SERP Snippet Preview Tool

Write your title tag and meta description, then see exactly how Google would render and truncate them. Measured in pixels, not just characters, because pixels are what actually decide where the text gets cut.

Preview how your title tag and meta description appear in Google results, measured in real pixel widths for desktop and mobile.

Rendering is an approximation of a Google desktop and mobile result. Google may rewrite titles and descriptions in the live SERP.

About this tool

Google truncates snippets by available width, not by character count. That is why a title packed with capital letters and wide characters gets cut earlier than a title of the same length written in narrow lowercase text. This tool measures your text the way a rendering engine does, using canvas text metrics at 20px Arial for the title and 14px Arial for the description, then compares the result against the container widths Google typically allows: roughly 580 pixels for a desktop title and 410 pixels on mobile, with descriptions running to about 990 and 960 pixels across the lines that display.

Use the meters as guardrails rather than targets. Staying under about 90 percent of the limit keeps your snippet safe when Google appends a site name, a date stamp, or a breadcrumb variation. Character counts are shown as secondary information because they remain a useful sanity check for CMS fields and spreadsheets, but when the two disagree, trust the pixels. The most important words belong in the first half of the title, where they survive truncation and where scanning eyes land first.

I build small utilities like this for client teams so writers and SEOs can check their work without waiting on a crawl or a report. If your team would benefit from purpose built tooling, internal dashboards, audit scripts, or AI workflows shaped around how you actually operate, tell me what you are working on.
